Gearing up for Spring Fashion and Racing season?
You're invited to come try on my latest millinery creations, at an afternoon tea party. Join the ladies for a treat or two, maybe even a sip of bubbly, and nab your own Minikem creation to co-ordinate your carnival outfit in style. Sunday, September 23rd. Private showing: Items for sale, and custom orders being taken. *Please note, this is not a public event, and limited guest places are available. Please contact Emily via info@minikem.com.au for an invitation. The latest collection is well underway and getting ready for Spring Fashion week and the Racing Carnival.
Expect pieces to revisit 1920s and 30s themes in my 'Divine Deco' range. Think tales of backstage theatrics, Parisian nightlife, and vintage glamour, all in a modern colour palette to coordinate your Racing Carnival look. Those of you drawn to the darker side, are also covered, with a 'Dia De Los Muertos' inspired Spanish flair also featuring in the collection. This week I got to shoot with award winning photographer Anna Zaharakis. Here's a 'Backstage' peek at my MUA and Styling. Last night on television, one of my hats was seen on 60 Minutes reporter, Liz Hayes -
Reporting Black Caviars win at the Royal Ascot races in England. Thrilled to see my work on tv, and the colour looked great on Liz! Also sending a big congratulations out to the Black Caviar team, well done. Here's my Launch your Label, Semi-finalist video entry!
Thank's to Daz at Sticky Productions. Hello again, It's a very busy little studio right now, and the most exciting bit of news here, is that my Millinery Designs made the Top Ten in Launch your Label Australia! I've just sent off a piece for judging for round two... Here's a peek at the item. I went with one from my 'Divine Deco' theme, 'Apex' in Raspberry & Gunmetal grey Silks. Apex stems from my look at Art Nouveau artists like Lalique and some entomology research when making some 'butterfly' hats. For a fly, the lacewing is really quite a pretty little bug. What's next for the competition? Despite a minor spanner in the works (thank-you laryngitis for stealing my voice, day 5 now, seriously), a little video is currently in the works, with or without my voice - it should be up here next week. The evening went off without a hitch!
Guests were greeted with a glass of bubbly (served by a dashing young waiter i might add, the ladies were a flutter), and the collection was launched. A lovely speech by Melbournestyle Galleries Maree Coote, and assistance on the night by hair stylist Thomai ensured the ladies could try on the pieces in style. Photographer Anna Zaharakis snapped some candid pics of the guests, whom included singer Sammy Paul and jewelry designer Aaron Simpson. A Salon Soiree, featuring Millinery items I am currently putting the finishing touches to.
Please join us for a glass of sparkling, 6-9pm, Monday 12th September 2011, at Melbournestyle Gallery South Melbourne, RSVP essential: mca@melbournestyle.com.au |
